DSPInterface won't run unless connected to Plot Block

I have noticed that if I don't connect the output of the DSPInterface block to a "plot" it does not execute when "run" is given. Please advise.

This is a feature of VisSim

VisSim only executes a block if it is observed by being connected to a signal consumer. This can be a plot, display, meter, histogram, export, PWM, etc. If you want to run the DSPInterface block without connecting it to a consumer block, make sure it has no outputs by unchecking the Show CPU Utilization option.
